The essay is the introduction to the section of the volume 'Accessibility to the historical city' in which innovative essays on the dialectics between Conservation and Accessibility have converged, in the major Italian cities in which common reflections emerge on the need to develop the theme in an interdisciplinary approach, to devise a for-all planning coordinated with urban planning and territorial development dynamics, and to pursue targeted training for community-integrated specialists.
